Dunwoody Village Main Street

Dunwoody Village Main Street

In 2011 the city adopted a Master Plan for the Dunwoody Village and a Transportation Master Plan both of which prioritized transforming the Dunwoody Village Parkway into a two-lane street with tree-lined sidewalks, benches, and street level access to restaurants and businesses reminiscent of a traditional Main Street.

The Main Street project addresses the need for pedestrian improvements on Dunwoody Village Parkway, while fostering a sense of community, encouraging growth of small businesses, and enhancing  quality of life.

Current Project Phase – Construction

Dunwoody Village Main Street Project Paved and Striped, Trees Planted
Construction crews have completed all paving work on the Dunwoody Village Main Street project.  The paving included resurfacing the west end of Dunwoody Village Parkway (by the Publix shopping center) and the three public driveways into the Dunwoody Village shopping center.  Crews have also completed the planting of trees along each side of the Parkway.

Throughout the project, the city worked closely with the businesses in Dunwoody Village and will continue proactive outreach and communication up until the final landscaping, street lighting and benches are installed.

The Dunwoody Village Main Street project has successfully provided on-street bicycle lanes, wide sidewalks, and landscape buffers. These enhancements will aid in the economic, social, cultural, and environmental well-being of this traditional commercial district.

The City is coordinating with Georgia Power to install the pedestrian street lights along the project.
