Fatality Crash
On May 9th, 2020 at 2:16 PM, Dunwoody Police officers were dispatched to I-285 WB near Ashford Dunwoody Road regarding a person hit by a vehicle. Officers arrived and located one adult male victim deceased.

Incident: Fatality Crash
Date: May 9, 2020
Location: I-285 WB near Ashford Dunwoody Road
On May 9th, 2020 at 2:16 PM, Dunwoody Police officers were dispatched to I-285 WB near Ashford Dunwoody Road regarding a person hit by a vehicle. Officers arrived and located one adult male victim deceased.
Crash investigators from the Dunwoody Police Crash Investigations Team responded and are in the process of conducting an investigation. Preliminary statements and evidence indicate a vehicle broke down on I-285 within a lane of travel. The victim appears to have stopped behind the stalled vehicle and was attempting to help the stalled motorist when he was struck by a vehicle.
The identity of the victim will be released at a later date once appropriate notifications have been made.
There were no other injuries reported in the crash. No charges have been made at this time.
