Bocce league begins in Georgetown Park in Dunwoody
The Atlanta Sport and Social Club Bocce League will begin holding matches in September at Georgetown Park in Dunwoody.
Dunwoody, GA – August 14, 2019 – The City of Dunwoody Parks and Recreation Department and the Atlanta Sport and Social Club are teaming up to offer organized bocce matches this fall at Georgetown Park, located at 4400 Dunwoody Park.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to involve young professionals and activate Georgetown Park, where we have two bocce courts,” said Dunwoody Recreation Supervisor Rachel Waldron. “We’ve been looking for ways to partner with the Atlanta Sport and Social Club, and this is a great start.”
Registration is underway now for the Atlanta Sport and Social Club's Bocce 4v4 League, which will begin in September. Matches will take place on Sundays. Players can register as individuals for $55 or as a team for $200. Up to six players can be on a team.
Founded in 2012, the Atlanta Sport and Social Club is the largest sport and social club in the area. It has more than 25,000 annual participants and operates more than 70 leagues every season.
“The Atlanta Sport and Social Club is excited and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with the City of Dunwoody. Dunwoody offers incredible professional and residential opportunities that are in line with the professional and personal goals of our participants,” said Marvin F. Guelce, Director of Sports Leagues for the Atlanta Sport and Social Club. “Bocce is an awesome, low requirement program that is a great way to introduce Dunwoody residents to the Atlanta Sport and Social Club brand. We hope to expand our offering with our more traditional sports later this year.”
