City of Dunwoody celebrates Kids to Parks Day

A national day of outdoor play, Kids to Parks Day is Saturday, May 18.

Dunwoody, GA – May 10, 2019 – Dunwoody’s Brook Run Park will be part of the nationwide Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 18, with an evening celebration to include live music, an outdoor showing of “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” plus food trucks, face painting and lawn games.

The free celebration will begin at 5 p.m. The movie will begin at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.) on the event field. Participants are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

“This is Dunwoody’s second year participating in Kids to Parks Day,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brent Walker. “We hope that the one-day event will serve as a reminder of the great opportunities people have in our parks every day of the year.”

Located at 4770 North Peachtree Road, the 110-acre Brook Run Park is the largest of Dunwoody’s nine parks.

Organized by the National Park Trust, Kids to Parks Day will be celebrated at parks across the country.
