City of Dunwoody Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The City of Dunwoody has earned the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting every year since incorporation.
Dunwoody, GA – March 7, 2019 – For the 9th year in a row, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Dunwoody for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“I’m thrilled the City has achieved this accomplishment every year of our existence,” said City of Dunwoody Finance Director Chris Pike. “It is difficult to earn this excellence award, and a lot of hard work goes into its effort. It highlights the City’s professionalism, prudent stewardship and our highest standards in financial presentation.”
Dunwoody’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story.
GFOA is a major professional association servicing the needs of nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners. The City of Dunwoody’s 2017 CAFR can be found here: https://dunwoody.jjcbigideas.com/CAFR2017DEV/
