Dunwoody City Hall Will Close on January 29

Only essential employees will report to work under a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service.

Dunwoody, GA – January 28, 2019 – In accordance with Governor Brian Kemp’s order to close state offices due to threatening winter weather, Dunwoody City Hall and Municipal Court will be closed on Tuesday, January 29.

Essential employees will report to work during normal and/or emergency business hours.

Monday night’s City Council meeting will go on as scheduled. It starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Dunwoody’s Public Works Department is preparing for the possibility of snow and/or ice on roadways.

Crews are preparing a brine mixture to spread early Tuesday, if needed. Brine helps keep snow and ice from bonding to the pavement.

Snow plows and salt spreaders are also positioned and ready to roll.

“City crews are making preparations today and will be on standby for 24-hour operations starting tomorrow,” said Dunwoody Public Works Director Michael Smith.

Smith said arterial roads and collector roads will take priority. Neighborhood streets will not be treated. Smith advises residents to plan ahead for parking if they live in a hilly neighborhood and need to get out tomorrow.
