Dunwoody Accepting 2017 Sustainable Hero Award Nominations

The city invites the Dunwoody community to recommend deserving citizens, businesses or non-profit organizations for the annual award recognizing innovative sustainable practices.

 
 
Dunwoody, GA – November 09, 2017 – The City of Dunwoody invites citizens and community members to nominate deserving candidates for the 2017 Resident Sustainable Hero and Corporate Sustainable Hero awards.  
 
The 2017 Sustainable Hero Award is an annual campaign recognizing an individual city resident and a company or business located in Dunwoody for particular and commendable involvement and promotion of sustainable activities or programs.
 
The nomination period for the 2017 Sustainable Hero Award program begins November 9, 2017 and runs through February 6, 2018.  Interested residents, local non-profits and area businesses can participate in the nomination process by visiting the 2017 Sustainable Hero Award online nomination portal at www.connectdunwoody.com. 
 
The 2017 Sustainable Hero Award online nomination portal at www.connectdunwoody.com contains information on the program as well as citizen and business nomination criteria.  Nominated individuals must be residents of the City of Dunwoody and companies or businesses need to be licensed within the City of Dunwoody in order to be included in the selection process. 
 
Established by the City of Dunwoody Sustainability Committee in 2010, the Sustainable Hero Award acknowledges an individual, group, non-profit organization or business which has increased community engagement on a sustainability topic and inspired the community or its employees and peers to improve sustainable practices such as waste reduction, conservation, education or recycling efforts.
 
The award is based upon the key facets of the city’s vision for sustainability and promotes actions to achieve an attractive quality of life, a robust economy a thriving natural environment, healthy living, efficient government and an engaged and informed community.
