Dunwoody, Ga. – May 7, 2015 – The City of Dunwoody proudly acknowledges the advancement of September Guy from Dunwoody Municipal Court Senior Solicitor to her newly appointed position of DeKalb County Magistrate Court judge.
Judge Guy served as a solicitor for the city of Dunwoody Municipal Court for the last two years until her recent appointment to the DeKalb County Magistrate Court by Chief Magistrate Judge Berryl A. Anderson.
“Judge Guy’s selection to serve the DeKalb County Magistrate Court is a tribute to the quality personnel within the city of Dunwoody,” said Bill Riley, Dunwoody City Attorney.
Over the last three years, five senior solicitors with the city have been elevated to judgeships within various counties and municipalities in the metro Atlanta area. This list of former Dunwoody solicitors includes Judge Candice Howard, Sandy Springs Municipal Court; Judge Leigh Dupree, Atlanta Municipal Court; Judge Warren Atkinson, Fulton County Magistrate Court; Judge Sharon Dixon, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody Municipal Courts; and now Judge September Guy, DeKalb County Magistrate Court.
“Dunwoody’s Municipal Court system has attracted phenomenal talent over the last six years, and while we hate to lose exemplary personnel, we are proud to provide an environment that fosters and produces judiciary leaders,” stated Mayor Mike Davis.
Dunwoody’s current assistant solicitors include Ladonya Horton, Josie Stevens, Chuck Rooks, and Victoria Aronow.
