Park Construction

Ballfields at Brook Run Park

Ballfields at Brook Run

The city worked with DeKalb County School System, Peachtree Charter Middle School and community participants on the development of two new baseball fields to be constructed on the newly acquired 7.98-acre site adjacent to Peachtree Charter Middle School.

The city and DeKalb County Schools established a shared use agreement  hereby the students at Peachtree Charter Middle School (PCMS) would have use of the fields throughout the school day during the school year and the city  would in turn permit Dunwoody Senior Baseball to use the fields for games and tournaments during the baseball season (approximately February to November.)

The city is also in charge of maintenance and operation of the track/football field at the PCMS property which would permit city-programmed activities during weekday evening and weekends. This mutually beneficial agreement can open the door for both existing and additional sports programming currently lacking for a city the size of Dunwoody. By upgrading the infrastructure at the track/football field and constructing two top quality baseball fields, the city will own or have access to approximately 12 acres of field space for area youth.
