Public Safety Cadets Program

Gain insight into fun and exciting careers in the field of law enforcement.

Vision Statement

Preparing young adults for careers and leadership in the public safety profession.

Mission Statement

Mentoring young adults to serve their communities by providing knowledge, skills and practical experiences through education and training delivered by public safety professionals that build character, physical fitness and respect for the rule of law.

The Police Cadet Program is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are between 14 and 21 years old. The Police Cadet Program is sponsored by the National Public Safety Cadet organization.

The Police Cadet Program helps participants gain insight into careers in the field of law enforcement in a learning environment with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development. The Dunwoody Cadets meet weekly to train in different aspects of law enforcement and volunteer at community special events and functions.

Participants in the Dunwoody Police Cadet Program are also eligible to compete for local and National scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,000. The community service hours also make Dunwoody Police Cadets eligible for other scholarships and nationally recognized awards.

If you are interested in becoming a Dunwoody Police Cadet, fill out the Application Packet and please contact Lieutenant William Furman at 678-382-6920 or william.furman@dunwoodyga.gov.
