Med-Return Program

Bring your expired, unwanted, and unused medication to the Dunwoody Police Department for safe disposal.

If you have expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs or over-the-counter medication, you can safely dispose of them at the Dunwoody Police Department on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

We cannot accept needles/sharps, syringes with needles, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, inhalers, medical equipment and hydrogen peroxide.

Disposing of all expired, unused, and unwanted medications is an important way to keep your family safe. Unintentional poisoning from prescription medications is on the rise. Each year over two million poison exposures are reported in the United States and many of the reported poisonings involve young children.

Unfortunately, there are many unused dangerous prescription drugs in homes throughout our community.  With the Med-Return Program, our citizens now have a safe way to dispose of these medications thus reducing the risk of unintentional poisoning or abuse. -Billy Grogan, Chief of Police
