Child Safety Seat Check Program

The Dunwoody Police Department will help you safely and correctly install your child's safety seat.

In an effort to improve automobile safety for children, the Dunwoody Police Department has several personnel trained in proper installation of child safety seats.  We are happy to check the installation of a child safety seat or install it correctly for free. Please call us at 678-382-6918 or e-mail carseatcheck@dunwoodyga.gov to set up a free personal appointment.  We also conduct semi-annual child safety seat check events. Events will be listed on the City calendar. 

Please bring the following items with you to your Child Safety Seat Check appointment:

  • Child safety seat
  • Child (if possible)
  • Child safety seat manual
  • Vehicle in which child safety seat will be installed
  • Vehicle manual
