Sex Trafficking Arrest

The Dunwoody Police Department has arrested Eric James Hall, age 46, and Afiong Bassey Okon, age 27, both of Dunwoody for Trafficking a Person for Sexual Servitude, Violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO), Pimping, and Keeping a Place of Prostitution.  Mr. Hall has also been charged with two counts of Simple Assault.

 

On May 27th 2014, the Dunwoody Police Department responded to the Gables Metropolitan Apartment Complex located in the City of Dunwoody, Dekalb County to follow up with a domestic violence complaint. During this domestic violence investigation, officers discovered evidence of a prostitution and sex trafficking operation; detectives were notified at that time for further investigation.  

 

Detective Thompson worked closely with the DeKalb County District Attorney’s office during the investigation of this case given the nature of the offenses, seriousness of the charges an adverse impact on the victims.
