The Dunwoody Police Department, in conjunction with the Georgia Retailers Organized Retail Crime Alliance (GROC), recently began an ongoing strategic partnership aimed at reducing retail crime in the City of Dunwoody.

Incident: Organized Retail Crime Alliance Operation

The Dunwoody Police Department, in conjunction with the Georgia Retailers Organized Retail Crime Alliance (GROC), an organization dedicated to bridging the gap between Georgia’s retail industry and law enforcement throughout the state, recently began an ongoing strategic partnership aimed at reducing retail crime in the City of Dunwoody. This was accomplished through intense and focused operations to combat retail associated crimes in the City of Dunwoody.

“Operations such as this one demonstrate our continued commitment to public/private partnerships that truly improve the safety of our community.” Said Police Chief Billy Grogan.

“The Georgia Retailers and our member companies are extremely lucky and very grateful to have such great partners in the Dunwoody Police Department and City of Dunwoody. Retail crimes affect the safety and bottom lines of our stores, employees, and customers. However, due to this ongoing collaboration, we hope those who would commit these crimes think twice before acting in Dunwoody.” said Thomas Beusse, Executive Director of the Georgia Retailers.

The operation resulted in 24 arrests, including 21 adults and 3 juvenile offenders. A total of $6,279 worth of merchandise was recovered, as well as other items such as fraudulent credit cards and tools used for the commission of a crime. In total, there were 11 felonies and 27 misdemeanors charged to the offenders.
