Incident:    Entering Autos
Date:         September 20, 2018
Location:   31 Perimeter Center East (Perimeter 31 Apartments)

On September 20th, 2018 at 2:47 AM, Dunwoody officers were dispatched to the Perimeter 31 Apartments, 31 Perimeter Center East, regarding an entering auto. The 911 caller advised he observed four teenage males breaking into an SUV in the parking deck. Dunwoody and Sandy Springs Police Officers arrived in the area and began checking for the suspects.

Moments later, a Dunwoody Police Officer observed a red 2012 Toyota Camry at the intersection of Ashford Dunwoody Road and Perimeter Center East traveling at a high rate of speed. As Dunwoody Police officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the vehicle made a U-turn and proceeded south on Ashford Dunwoody Road toward Interstate 285. A Dunwoody Police Officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle but the vehicle sped away.

The vehicle then proceeded onto Interstate 285 and officers lost sight of it. As the suspect vehicle entered onto Interstate 285 it struck a motorcycle traveling on I-285 west, causing the operator to lose control and crash. Another vehicle then struck the crashed motorcycle. Both the motorcycle operator and the driver who struck the motorcycle were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle, later determined to be a stolen vehicle from Clarkston, was located abandoned on I-285 near GA 400.

The suspects were not located and were described by a witness as four young black males, possibly between the ages of 13 and 16 years old.
