Arrest of Serial Burglary Suspects

Dunwoody Police Officers have arrested two individuals for burglary. Investigators determined that the suspects are possibly responsible for 37 other commercial burglaries in the Metro Atlanta area.

Incident: Arrest of Serial Burglary Suspects
Date:  02/16/2018
Location:  Starbucks, 4441 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

On Tuesday February 6th, 2018, at 03:24 AM, Dunwoody Police Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at the Starbucks, 4441 Ashford Dunwoody Road. Officers were advised that the alarm company observed two suspects crawling on the floor near the safe. The first Dunwoody Police Officer arrived within two minutes and heard individuals running through the woods toward a nearby hotel. Other officers responded to the area of the hotel and observed the two male suspects after they exited the woods. Both suspects ran away upon sight of officers.

Dunwoody Police Officers, with the assistance of a K-9 unit from the Doraville Police Department, were able to take one of the suspects, 28 year old Quadir T. Johnson, into custody. The second suspect was not initially captured.

Dunwoody Police Detectives began working to identify the second suspect and quickly realized that the two men were possibly responsible for 37 other commercial burglaries in the Metro Atlanta area. Working with investigators from the Gwinnett and Dekalb County Police Departments, detectives were able to identify the second suspect as 25 year old Jahmsid N. Johnson, Quadir Johnson’s brother.

On Thursday February 15th, 2018, Dunwoody Police Detectives and officers from the Dekalb County Police Department located Mr. Jahmsid Johnson and placed him into custody at an apartment in Decatur, GA.

Both suspects are charged with multiple felony offenses.
