The Dunwoody Police Department is proud to announce that, within a one-week period, Officer Michael Cheek received a Positive Policing Award and was also promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Police Chief Billy Grogan stated, “Police officers have no greater responsibility than protecting the most vulnerable people in our communities and building relationships with them.  The Griffin Project does just that.”

On May 11, 2017, Officer Cheek was officially promoted to Sergeant.  The promotion was recognized in a ceremony held in the Dunwoody City Council Chambers four days later.  Upon the completion of a field training program, Sergeant Cheek will be assigned as a Patrol Division Supervisor.
