Underage Alcohol Sales Operation

The Dunwoody Police Department recently conducted an underage alcohol operation involving fourteen different alcohol sales locations.

The Dunwoody Police Department recently conducted an underage alcohol operation involving fourteen different alcohol sales locations.  Undercover officers used an underage teenager to make an attempt at purchasing alcohol. 

In an effort to resolve youth alcohol-related and underage drinking problems, we will use various strategies to focus on increasing enforcement of, and compliance with, all state and local underage drinking laws. The Dunwoody Police Department will regularly use alcohol sales compliance checks as a tool in our efforts to keep the City of Dunwoody safe.

There were eight locations that refused to sell alcohol to the minors. The Dunwoody Police Department would like to commend each of these Dunwoody businesses for working to protect our community and keep our youth safe and sober.  They are as follows: 

• Ruby Shell Station 5020 Winters Chapel Rd
• BP Gas Station 5418 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd
• Peachtree Convenience Store 6900 Peachtree Industrial Blvd
• Royal Food Mart 4479 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd
• Texaco Food Plaza 4639 N. Peachtree Rd
• Dunwoody Food Mart
• Taco Mac
• Tin Lizzy’s  

The following businesses sold alcohol to minors:

• BP Gas Station 4368 N. Peachtree Rd
• BP Gas Station 4485 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd
• Outback Steakhouse
• Total Wine
• Chuy’s Tex-Mex
• Eclipse di Luna

The individuals that sold the alcohol to the underage teenagers were cited and released at the scene.
