Commercial Sex Trafficking and Sexual Servitude Operation

In our ongoing efforts to address Commercial Sex Trafficking and the Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) within the city limits of Dunwoody, the Dunwoody Police Department recently conducted an undercover operation.

***********For Immediate Release**********

Incident:  Commercial Sex Trafficking and Sexual Servitude Operation
Date:  March 7, 2016
Location:  Dunwoody, GA

The goal of the operation was to rescue any victims of commercial sex trafficking and reduce crime as it relates to prostitution.

On March 3, 2016, the Dunwoody Police Department worked in conjunction with the FBI Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation (MATCH) Task Force, the DeKalb Anti-Trafficking and Exploitation (DATE Watch) Task Force and the Gwinnet County Police Department Vice Unit to conduct an undercover commercial sex trafficking operation at a cooperating hotel within the city limits of Dunwoody.  During this operation, we arrested two subjects for Pimping and nine subjects were arrested for Prostitution. This operation would not have been possible without the close working relationship the Dunwoody Police Department has with the business and hotel community.

The goal of operations such as these is to first and foremost rescue any children or young adults who are victims of sex trafficking.  We also want to remove those profiting from commercial sex trafficking by putting them in jail,” said Chief Billy Grogan.
