On November 12, 2015 at approximately 12:01 am Dunwoody Officers responded to Interstate 285 WB between Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and Ashford Dunwoody Rd.

Location: Interstate 285 WB/Chamblee Dunwoody Rd-Ashford Dunwoody Rd

On November 12th, 2015 at approximately 1201 am Dunwoody officers responded to a motorcycle accident on Interstate 285 WB between Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and Ashford Dunwoody Rd. Preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of the motorcycle, Mr. Robert McCarthy, was traveling west on Interstate 285 at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle collided with the rear of a dump truck in the #4 lane of travel. As result of the impact, the motorcycle burst into flames. Mr. McCarthy was pronounced deceased at the scene.
