Elder Exploitation Arrests

The Dunwoody Police Department in cooperation with the DeKalb County District Attorney's office has completed a nine month investigation into a case of elder exploitation.

The Dunwoody Police Department in cooperation with the DeKalb County District Attorney’s office has completed a nine month investigation into a case of elder exploitation.  As a result the Dunwoody Police Department has arrested Susan Abbott Wofford, age 55, of Dunwoody for four counts of Elder Exploitation (F).  The Dunwoody Police Department also arrested James Blake Wofford, age 57, of Dunwoody for two counts of Elder Exploitation (F). 

The investigation revealed that a misappropriation of funds occurred to a 92 year-old family member of which Susan Abbott Wofford maintained power of attorney over.  Documentation shows that Susan Wofford along with James Wofford misappropriated funds together from the victim.  This is still an ongoing investigation between Dunwoody Police and the District Attorney’s Office to determine total amount of misappropriated funds.
