Dunwoody Police Officers Are FREEZIN' FOR A REASON

The Dunwoody Police Department is proud to announce the department's participation in the upcoming 2013 Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Georgia.

We need your help!!

The Dunwoody Police Department is proud to announce the department's participation in the upcoming 2013 Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia. We will be participating in this event for the 4th year in a row. This is a great opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the 23,000 athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. A number of officers have each pledged to raise $50 for the opportunity to plunge at Lake Lanier’s new Lanier World. Of course they are not limited to just $50! In 2012, the Dunwoody Police Department team raised over $12,000! With your help, we can do even better this year!

The fourth annual 2013 Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Georgia will be held at:

Lake Lanier's new Lanier World at Sunset Cove on February 16, 2013
Registration & Activities begin 11:00am, PLUNGE TIME 2:00pm!

Anyone who raises at least $50 can plunge into Lake Lanier and all proceeds go to Special Olympics Georgia. There are many great incentives if you raise even more. This is where we need your help!

The department has created a Dunwoody Police Department team on the fundraising page for Special Olympics and all team plungers have joined the team with their personal fundraising page. Our goal is for the Dunwoody Police Department team to lead all police departments in total funds raised. Thanks to your support, we were recognized as the largest law enforcement fundraising team for the polar plunge the first three years. Please DONATE HERE if you would like to make a donation to our team. All donations are tax deductible.

If you are interested in plunging yourself, you could join our team and plunge with us. (Don’t worry, you can plunge with your toe or go all the way in!)  Of course, you could also form your own team. This could be done with a business, association, youth group, club, school, college, family or just about any other type of group.
You can also pass this information on to your family and friends who can join your team as well.

Visit the 2013 Polar Plunge website at: Polar Plunge GA for complete details on the event as well as a link to the "Plunger Tool Kit" which explains what the event is about and how to start your own team as well as the registration form. Please consider passing this information on to others you know who might be willing to help.

If you sign up to plunge on our team, select "Dunwoody Police Department 2012" team from the drop down list. If you start your own team, type in: "Dunwoody Police Department" as the referring group.

There is also a golf tournament at Lake Lanier this year on Friday, February 15, 2013, preceding the Polar Plunge event.  You can sign up for the golf tournament with the Polar Plunge Golf Registration Form.  If you are not able to plunge, join us in the golf tournament!
