Perimeter Center Parkway Access Ramp

The "Westside Connector" project is a concept designed to provide congestion relief to the existing I-285 at Ashford Dunwoody Interchange and surrounding area along Hammond Drive.  The current concept is to construct a grade separated distributor ramp that will provide access between I-285 to Perimeter Center Parkway, eliminating the existing weaving problem on Ashford Dunwoody Road between I-285 and Hammond.  In addition, a multiuse trail would be incorporated into the project to provide pedestrian connectivity across Ashford Dunwoody Road.

The City of Dunwoody has received Federal funding through the Atlanta Regional Commission to verify that the current design concept is viable, explore any alternate concepts, gather public input, provide a construction cost estimate, and obtain support from the various public and private stakeholders, including the Federal Highways Administration (FHWA).  The concept is expected to be approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation in 2019 and the City is coordinating the project with the state's plans for I285. Construction funding is still to be determined.
